About Me
Andy HO is graduated from BA (hons) in Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University, with exchange experience in Trier University of Applied Sciences, Idar-Oberstein, Germany, studying Gemstone and Jewellery. He focuses on three-dimensional practice, with installation and sculpture in various materials.
His practice explores the essence and interactions between time-space and human beings, through a logical and conceptually oriented approach. Believing that a place shapes a person, his works investigate the influence of spatial context, socioeconomic phenomena, geography, and cultures on our condition of existence and way of thinking, ultimately proposing reflection on our perception and sense of identity.
Statement
My practice focus on object-based practice, with logical and conceptually oriented approach that discuss the essence and interaction between time-space and human being, and investigate how these factors shaped ourselves.
In my practice, on one hand I explore different methodology and materiality to be used according to the needs of my concept, on the other hand I considered the work is not only the object per se, but constructing contextual dialogue with the place it is presented, so as to proposing reflection to self and the place we are living.
